We would like to welcome you to Pecan Creek Academy! Pecan Creek provides a safe, warm, positive environment for children to become enthusiastic about education and develop a strong sense of self-worth.  Programs are available for children ages 6 weeks – Pre-Kindergarten.  After-School care is offered for public school children, Kindergarten – 5th grade. Drop off and Pick Up from Hurfurth, Cullins, Liberty Grove, Steadham, Keeley, & Pearson Elementary in Garland ISD. Kimberlin, Watson & Vial buses drop off at our facility. During the summer months, we also offer an all-day Summer Camp program for K-5th graders.

We will do whatever we can to make sure your child’s experience here at Pecan Creek is exceptional. Pecan Creek Academy was established for the purpose of meeting a community’s need for excellent childcare. Our purpose is to educate, provide learning experiences, and to help develop a child in body, soul and spirit. We offer a healthy and safe environment where relationships and all attitudes are in the best interest of the children.

We have developed our program around the four foundational cornerstones of development referred to in Luke 2:52. The scripture says, “Jesus became wiser and grew physically. People liked him, and he pleased God.” It is our aim to help your child grow and develop in these four areas:
1. In wisdom and knowledge. We use the ABEKA curriculum, which is nationally recognized for its emphasis on phonics and teaching children to read with proficiency.
2. In physical growth. We provide times of recreation and physical activity and nutritional meals and snacks daily to promote healthy growth and habits.
3. In socialization. Good peer relationships are essential for developing a positive, healthy self esteem, and are a strong predictor of later success in life. We teach children to interact with their friends using the “golden rule”.
4. In their understanding and love for God. Your child will learn about God’s love for them through fun Bible stories and a weekly all-school Assembly time every Monday morning.

We believe that learning takes place in many different ways for children and therefore, we provide a balance between times for teacher-directed formal instruction and child-directed exploration of learning centers, recreation, socialization, artistic expression and music.

We want children to experience many successes in their learning.  Each child is seen as a unique individual created with special talents, abilities, and interests.  Our staff includes specially trained and degreed teachers who will encourage your child to develop self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, and self-esteem.
